PreciousMetalPrices.com was built from the ground up to respect your privacy. No tracking, no advertising, no cookies — and this is not an empty promise, it is technically verifiable.
What we do NOT do
- No Google Analytics — We do not use any tracking tools whatsoever. No Google Analytics, no Matomo, no other analytics software.
- No advertising — No ad banners, no sponsored content, no affiliate links. This site is not funded by your attention.
- No cookies — We do not use tracking cookies, marketing cookies, or analytics cookies. That is why we do not need a cookie banner.
- No fingerprinting — We do not create digital fingerprints of your browser or device.
- No data selling — No personal data is collected, stored, or shared with third parties.
What we do
- SSL/TLS A+ — Encrypted connection with the highest rating. HSTS, strong cipher suites, OCSP stapling — all state of the art.
- Hosted in Germany — Servers at Hetzner in Germany. Your data never leaves the EU legal area.

- Open-source technology — Built with Laravel, one of the most widely used open-source frameworks. No proprietary tracking libraries, no external scripts.
- LBMA data — Official precious metal prices from the London Bullion Market Association as the daily reference price.
Anonymous Page View Measurement
To understand which content is useful to our visitors, we count page views — completely anonymously and without any possibility of identifying individual visitors.
Which page was viewed (e.g. "Gold Price") as well as statistical categories: device type (desktop/mobile), browser family (Chrome/Firefox/…), operating system, and language setting. This data is not linked together and does not allow any inference about individual persons.
No IP addresses, no session IDs, no visitor identifiers, no time on page, no click paths, no recognition. Each page view stands on its own — it is technically impossible to attribute two views to the same visitor.
When a page loads, your browser sends a single, minimal request to our server (a so-called "beacon"). This contains only the page path. The device category and browser type are derived from the standard User-Agent header that your browser sends with every page request anyway. No cookies are set, no JavaScript fingerprinting is performed, and no data is sent to third parties.
The result: We see "The gold price page was viewed 500 times today, 60% on mobile" — but never "Visitor X viewed the gold price at 2:32 PM and then used the calculator". Comparable to a visitor counter at a shop entrance: it counts how many people enter — without knowing who they are.
Verifiable
We want you to be able to verify our claims yourself, not just take our word for it:

Open your browser developer console (F12 → Network): you will not find a single request to Google, Facebook, or any other tracking service. The only additional request — a small POST to /api/pv containing only the page path — can also be inspected there to verify that no personal data is transmitted.
Why this matters
Many gold price websites are funded through advertising and affiliate links. This means: Google Analytics tracks every click, cookie banners annoy you on your first visit, and your data is shared with advertising networks.
