Eight in-depth precious metals guides for Ireland
The new guides answer the questions that come up before, during and after a purchase: buying gold and silver, how the price is actually formed, which taxes apply in Ireland — Capital Gains Tax at 33 per cent, the 1,270 euro exemption and Capital Acquisitions Tax — platinum and palladium, how to store and insure your metal, and what the National Monuments Acts really mean for anything buried in the ground. Written for the Republic of Ireland under Irish law, not borrowed from British sources, and linked to live prices and calculators.
Read the guides →Every Ratio Now Shows Where It Has Been
Is a ratio of 67 high or low? On its own the number settles nothing. Each ratio page now sets the current reading against its own record: a scale marking the historical minimum, the median and the maximum, together with the share of months since 1968 that closed below the level reached today. Because the scale follows the value rather than the percentile, it becomes visible that the median sits nowhere near the midpoint between the two extremes. The figures come from 701 monthly closing prices — the gold-platinum ratio, for instance, is currently sitting close to the upper end of everything recorded so far.
Go to the ratio page →Share Pages with Branded Preview Images
Any metal or glossary page can now be shared in a single click: the new Share button (top right) sends Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium pages — along with glossary entries — straight to WhatsApp, Telegram, X, Facebook and beyond, or simply copies the link for you. Each link you share automatically displays a branded 1200×630 preview image showing the current price or term, rather than a bare text URL.
