New features and improvements on PreciousMetalPrices.com

Every Ratio Now Carries Its Own History

Is 67 high or low? On its own the number says almost nothing, so every ratio page now shows the reading against its own record: a scale marking the historical minimum, the median and the maximum, and beneath it the count of months since 1968 that closed below today's level. Because the scale follows the value and not the percentile, you can see at a glance that the median is nowhere near the midpoint between the two extremes. The basis is 701 monthly closing prices — the gold-platinum ratio, to take one example, is sitting close to the top of its historical range at the moment.

Eight In-Depth Precious Metals Guides for the UK

Long-form guides now cover the questions UK buyers actually ask: which coins fall outside Capital Gains Tax and which do not, why investment gold is VAT-exempt while silver carries 20 per cent, how the LBMA benchmark is set in London, and what applies to storage, insurance, inheritance and finds in the ground. Every figure is traced back to HMRC guidance or legislation.gov.uk.

Share Pages with Branded Preview Images

Any metal or glossary page can now be shared in one click: the Share button at the top right sends Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium pages — and glossary entries — straight to WhatsApp, Telegram, X, Facebook and the rest, or simply copies the link. Whatever the recipient sees is a branded 1200×630 preview card carrying the current price or the term itself, rather than a bare URL.

New Dental Gold Calculator

The new Dental Gold Calculator instantly values old gold crowns, bridges and inlays from their weight and fineness, based on the live gold price — with an estimated buy-back price, alloy quick-select and an in-depth guide covering fineness, the hidden platinum and palladium value, fair deductions, selling channels and taxes.

PreciousMetalPrices.com is live!

Our real-time precious metals portal is now live across Europe, with a dedicated edition for the United Kingdom in pounds sterling — live charts, calculators, the Fear & Greed Index and more. A German edition runs at edelmetall-preis.de.
