PAMP Suisse

Also: PAMP, Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux

PAMP Suisse is a Swiss precious metals refinery founded in 1977, based in Castel San Pietro, that ranks among the most renowned and most widely distributed bar producers in the world.

PAMP Suisse - the abbreviation stands for Produits Artistiques Metaux Precieux - is a Swiss precious metals refinery founded in 1977 in the Ticino town of Castel San Pietro. The company today belongs to the MKS PAMP Group and, alongside Valcambi and Argor-Heraeus, is one of the three major Swiss refineries that help shape the worldwide standard for high-quality investment-metal bars. PAMP bars are regarded in the trade as a reference product and are accepted by central banks, institutional investors and private individuals alike.

Product range and bar types

PAMP produces bars from gold, silver, platinum and palladium. The most important product lines at a glance:

Series Metal Fineness Denominations (selection)

Fortuna Silver 999.0 1 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 kg

Rose (rose gold) Gold alloy 750.0 1 g, 2.5 g, 5 g, 10 g
Platinum Fortuna Platinum 999.5 1 oz, 10 g

The best-known and best-selling motif is the Fortuna - the Roman goddess of fortune with a blindfold and cornucopia - depicted on the relief-minted bar. This motif makes PAMP bars instantly recognisable worldwide.

VERISCAN technology and authenticity testing

A key unique selling point of PAMP is its proprietary VERISCAN system. The unique microscopic surface structure of each individual bar is digitally captured at the time of production. Buyers can later rescan their bar via an app and compare it with the stored fingerprint - a counterfeit would thus be immediately detectable, even with identical weight and fineness.

Bar fingerprint (VERISCAN):
Surface scan → Digital hash → Comparison with PAMP database
→ Match: Original / Deviation: Counterfeit

In addition, small bars (generally up to 100 g) are supplied in a sealed assay certificate blister (the so-called CertiCard). The certificate contains fineness, weight, an individual serial number and the Swiss cross as proof of origin. As long as the blister is unopened, the original condition is unambiguously documented - which positively influences the buying price on resale. Additional authenticity checks such as density measurement or ultrasound can be carried out in support with our coin authenticity test.

LBMA Good Delivery and international recognition

PAMP Suisse is accredited on the LBMA Good Delivery List for both gold and silver - the most important international quality standard for large bars in institutional trading. This accreditation ensures that PAMP bars are accepted without further testing on the futures exchanges (COMEX) and in interbank trading as collateral. For investors this means: maximum liquidity and worldwide tradability.

An LBMA Good Delivery producer must meet the following requirements:

  1. Proven refining capacity and quality management systems
  2. Regular independent sampling and fineness analyses
  3. Compliance with LBMA guidelines on responsible sourcing (Responsible Gold)
  4. At least three years of delivery presence in the market

Premium and market position

PAMP bars are typically traded at a slightly higher premium (agio) than less well-known producers. The reasons for this are the brand strength, the VERISCAN technology and the broad institutional acceptance. At the live gold price you can determine the material value of your bar at any time with our gold calculator or the melt value calculator.

In brief

PAMP Suisse stands for the highest Swiss processing quality, LBMA accreditation and innovative anti-counterfeiting technology (VERISCAN) - anyone who values resaleability and international recognition makes a reliable choice with a PAMP bar.
